Operator Guide
Quick guide for the Operator in the Company Portal: register watches, register lines, prepare, link and hand over.
As an Operator you handle your company's day-to-day fleet operations: you register watches, register phone lines, prepare devices, link them to each user and generate the code, and follow up on stock states. You work inside the Company Portal and see your company's fleet.
➡️ Each step has its own detailed page; the links are at the end of each section.
The steps you own
Always follow this order. A newly registered watch starts in the Sin Asignar / Sin Knox (Unassigned / not prepared) state; only after you prepare it (Knox + line) does it become Con Knox, ready to link.
1. Register the watches
Add the new watches to the Portal. A newly registered device comes in as Sin Asignar / Sin Knox: it's in the system, but not yet prepared or linked.
➡️ Details in Register watches.
2. Register the phone lines
Add the lines you'll use for the watches. Without an available line you can't complete preparation.
➡️ Details in Phone lines.
3. Prepare the watch (Knox + line)
Preparing a watch means applying the device-management setup (Knox) and assigning it a phone line. Once prepared, the watch moves to Sin Asignar / Con Knox = ready to link.
➡️ Details in Prepare watches.
4. Link the watch to the user and generate the code
Link the prepared watch to a user (the person who will wear it). Linking generates the pairing code, a 3-letter code. The watch moves to Linked.
💡 If the user already exists, the Portal finds them by email, name or identifier. A user can have only one active watch at a time.
➡️ Details in Generate the pairing code.
5. Enter the code and hand over
You enter the 3-letter code on the watch. At that moment the watch moves to With end user (active) and goes live.
⚠️ The watch reaches With end user (active) before you hand it to the user: the device is delivered already linked and working. The user installs nothing, activates nothing, and never enters any code.
➡️ Details in Dispatch and hand over.
Key rules
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Order | Register → line → prepare → link → enter code → hand over. |
| Initial state | A newly registered watch = Sin Asignar / Sin Knox. |
| Ready to link | Only after preparation (Knox + line) = Con Knox. |
| One user, one watch | Each user has only one active watch at a time. |
| Hand over | The watch is delivered already linked and active; the user enters no code. |
If something goes wrong
- You lost the code before entering it. The code has no time expiry: it's valid until used. If you lose it, unlink the watch and link it again to generate a fresh one.
- You need to move the watch to a different user. Unlink the watch (it returns to Unassigned) and link the new user to get a fresh code.
- The watch fails QA. Move it to the Defective state instead of linking it.
